This work began after the birth of my first child and while I was in graduate school, when I began photographing my new daughter, myself, and my mother. When my second daughter was born three years later I photographed her as well. Influenced by Northern Renaissance paintings and my childhood homes in churches, I used my own life to explore the mother child archetype. All works are made with a large format camera and 4x5" color negative film. The original prints are C-prints, subsequent prints are archival pigment prints from scanned negatives.
